We have a fantastic opportunity for a Tradesperson (Electrician). In this role you will work across the university both unassisted, and as part of a team of trades and handypersons colleagues and external contractors, depending on the works being undertaken. The Electrical Tradesperson is responsible for carrying out minor installations, maintenance and reactive repairs on the electrical infrastructure and services across the estate.

To Succeed In This Opportunity

  • You will work on your own initiative in the main but also as part of the wider Estates team.
  • You will demonstrate your exceptional communication and customer care skills, as you will be responsible for completing tasks and acting on queries and situations that arise daily, in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Once every two weeks you may have to work a flexible working week outside of the agreed shift pattern. This could include early starts, late finishes or weekend work as you will be part of the out-of-hours call-out rota within the trades team.

The Successful Candidate Should Possess The Following Certificates

  • A City and Guilds of London Institute Certificate NVQ Level 3 in electrical installations or City and Guilds part 1 and 2 in Electrical Installations
  • A full UK driving license.
  • Have successfully completed the AM2 assessment

The Facilities Management team

The Facilities Management team sits within the Estates and Property Service Division. Their core objective is to provide essential and critical Facilities Management services across all campuses, to ensure the buildings and general estates are pleasant, fit for purpose and functional for all our staff and students.
