We’re looking for a dynamic, experienced Academic Developer to join the University of Salford’s Learning and Teaching Enhancement Centre (LTEC), a team driving the University’s learning and teaching strategy forward. As we deliver our new Education Delivery Plan: Realising Inclusive Education for All, you’ll play a key role in shaping impactful, inclusive academic practice across the institution. Working with colleagues, teaching teams, and students, you’ll champion innovative, research‑informed pedagogies that make a real difference to the student experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with and influence School leaders and key stakeholders to shape bespoke solutions addressing school needs and aligned to the University academic development agenda.
  • Lead, teach, assess, review and enhance the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice.
  • Drive the development of a CPD framework in academic practice, aligned with the Professional Standards Framework 2023, in support of our Advance HE institutional accreditation.
  • Contribute to the production of advice and guidance documents and toolkits on policies, procedures and methodologies on matters of high demand, e.g., an ‘essentials’, ‘new to’ and ‘how to’ series.
  • Promote equity and diversity for students and staff and sustain an inclusive and supportive study and work environment in accordance with University policy.

The Learning and Teaching Enhancement Centre (LTEC) is the University of Salford’s hub for advancing excellence and innovation in learning, teaching, and assessment. Acting as a focal point for sharing best practice, LTEC works in partnership with Academic Schools to enhance pedagogic approaches, strengthen programme design, and enable inclusive, high‑impact education. With a central role in delivering the University’s Education Delivery Plan: Realising Inclusive Education for All, LTEC support colleagues to embed inclusive, research‑informed, and future‑focused teaching practices. Our team of academic developers and learning technologists provide staff development, accredited programmes, bespoke consultancy, and targeted interventions aligned with institutional priorities and local School needs. By championing professional practice and continuous enhancement through our strong cross‑university relationships, LTEC helps ensure all students benefit from high‑quality learning experiences that support their success and sense of belonging.
