The University of Manchester received funding from the EPSRC to manage the UK Robotics and Autonomous Systems Network (UK-RAS). UK-RAS was established in 2015 with the aim of providing academic leadership in robotics and autonomous systems (RAS), expanding collaboration with industry and co-ordinating academic activities in this research field. The Network currently has 37 partner universities across the UK.

The UK-RAS Project Manager will be located in Manchester and will be responsible for providing project management services and support to the UK-RAS Network. The postholder will be a key point of contact for stakeholder engagement, in particular with external stakeholders, including funding bodies, industry and the 37 university members of UK-RAS. It is expected that the postholder will be responsible for a broad range of activities including organising and attending events in the UK and potentially internationally, managing finances and establishing suitable processes for the distribution of funds to partner universities to support UK-RAS activities.

Reporting to the School Research and Project Manager and Professor Andrew Weightman, Professor of Medical Mechatronics the UKRAS Project Manager will be responsible for the administration of the project. The post holder will ensure tasks are carried out in a timely manner with a high level of professionalism, confidentiality and in accordance with all UoM policies and procedures.
