Overview

The School of Biological Sciences is seeking to appoint an outstanding Teaching Associate for a period of 12 months to provide support for Biosciences Teaching activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of tutorials to undergraduate students in years 1-3 and any marking associated with this activity. In addition, the post will involve the supervision of practical classes to year 1 and year 2 students. Practical classes will be delivered with the support and guidance of an established member of staff and the unit-co-ordinator. These sessions will also be supported by postgraduate demonstrators. It is envisaged that the post holder will provide support for marking student work as and when required.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of tutorials to undergraduate students in years 1-3 and marking as required.
  • Supervision of practical classes for year 1 and year 2 students, delivered with support from staff, the unit-coordinator, and postgraduate demonstrators.
  • Support for marking student work as required.

Qualifications

  • Relevant PhD in a Biomedical Sciences related subject area.
  • Evidence of clear interest in and experience of teaching, with skills and commitment to developing the quality of the student experience.
