The University of Manchester’s Sport Department, UoM Sport, is recruiting a full-time Sport Development Coordinator to oversee our Health, Fitness and Wellbeing programmes. The successful candidate will coordinate the delivery of our university-wide participation programmes and initiatives, aiming to increase engagement and improve the physical and mental health of staff, students, and the wider UoM community.

The role will collaborate with the department’s wider Health and Fitness team to coordinate and deliver our Active Manchester gym and fitness programme. It will also work closely with the university’s wellbeing services to increase staff engagement, support the development of a Staff Sport Network, and link with wider support services to deliver an impactful exercise referral scheme.

The successful candidate will oversee the Sport Participation Intern and, where appropriate, contracted Fitness Instructors responsible for delivering health, fitness, and wellbeing programmes. A fitness/group exercise instructor qualification is required to support ongoing delivery. We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging individual with substantial experience in delivering entry-level participation programmes, including health, fitness, and wellbeing.
