Job Title: Marketing & Events Manager

The Masood Entrepreneurship Centre (MEC) is the focal point for enterprise and entrepreneurship programmes at the University of Manchester, aimed at students, recent graduates, and researchers through on-curricular teaching and co-curricular activities. Our core mission is to deliver \”Entrepreneurship for All\”β€”making entrepreneurship education accessible across all disciplines and levels, fostering entrepreneurial capacities and mindsets in our community.

Established in 2000, MEC is a leader in practitioner-based, applied enterprise education in the UK. We have ambitious plans to expand our reach and impact, ensuring entrepreneurship benefits every student, regardless of their discipline, profession, or career path.

Role Overview

The Marketing & Events Manager will oversee the planning and management of MEC\’s flagship competitions and events, including the annual Venture Further Awards, Venture Builder Demo Day, Startup Weekend, and Global Entrepreneurship Week. The role involves delivering high-profile campaigns, communications, and marketing activities to promote entrepreneurship across the university.

This is a dynamic and challenging role requiring an energetic, self-motivated individual with a proactive attitude. The successful candidate will join a team implementing innovative strategies and technologies to support targeted student enterprise activities, aligning with MEC\’s mission of \”Entrepreneurship for All.\”

Reporting to the Deputy Director, the role offers a creative and collaborative environment to shape the Centre\’s future and enhance the visibility of entrepreneurship at The University of Manchester. Key responsibilities include project management, marketing, event coordination, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on entrepreneurship-related initiatives. Flexibility to work across university departments and undertake various roles is essential.

Additional Information

First stage interviews are scheduled for the 24th and 25th of September.
