We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Technical Specialist in Transformer Ageing to join our dynamic technical operations team. The role provides sector-leading technical support for FSE and the wider University, with a commitment to customer service excellence and a passion for science and engineering. The post is based in Manchester and contributes to the provision of a sector-leading technical service for teaching, research and professional services.

The purpose of this role is to provide technical support for the experimental research on ageing assessment of transformer insulation systems through laboratory experiments. This includes design and development of medium and large-scale experimental systems to replicate transformer chemical marker portioning processes. The role also involves conducting various physico-chemical measurements of oil and paper parameters during the experiments, data analysis, and potential inclusion in publications.
