We are recruiting for a permanent, full-time position (35 hours per week) to the role of Teaching, Learning and Student Experience Coordinator (Student Support), within Student and Academic Services, within the Directorate of the Student Experience. The role involves coordinating admissions and ongoing student support to online and blended learners both in the UK and overseas. Our learners may be studying part time for a Post Graduate qualification or completing a short course as part of their career development.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate admissions and ongoing student support to online and blended learners both in the UK and overseas.
- Provide online welcome sessions to new students via web conferencing software and train new students in the use of this software and help them diagnose and resolve problems.
- Answer queries directly from OBL students by phone, email or online, and advocate for the student in tracking down answers from other University support teams.
- Be a problem-solver with excellent communication skills; maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality.
- Assist with supporting online services and/or students within an educational environment (advantageous but not essential).
- Organise own time, prioritise workloads and work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Have good general computing skills, particularly in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and online meeting software; undertake further technical training where necessary.
- It would be advantageous to have experience with the Canvas VLE and familiarity with online/blended learning.
