The Campus Support and Security Unit is seeking to appoint a Senior Campus Support and Security Supervisor to assist in delivering a customer focussed and professional service by providing a safe, secure and welcoming environment in which staff and students of the University can carry out their business and activities.
The post holder will be responsible for supervising and delegating work for Campus Support and Security staff together with the monitoring of their ongoing training requirements and health and safety. Additionally, you will be responsible for the deployment of staff to meet all operational requirements, as well as taking control and responsibility for dealing with any incidents that occur during the shift, whilst acting as the focal point of contact/liaison for the emergency services and other external agencies.
You will ensure the smooth running and administration of the shift, delegating duties as necessary and have the responsibility for ensuring that all paperwork including security reports are properly completed in a timely manner before the end of the shift and that hand-over procedures are carried out correctly in an effective and efficient manner.
You must possess a qualification in Security Supervision and have significant experience in a similar role. Possess a CCTV Public Space Surveillance qualification and have a valid First Aid at Work certificate and have a full UK driving licence. You must be able to demonstrate excellent verbal communication, have experience of planning and organising the work of yourself and others, must demonstrate strong leadership skills in sometimes challenging circumstances. You must demonstrate the ability to motivate and build an effective team. Have experience in producing clear accurate and concise documentation and be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of various computer software packages.
