We are seeking an organised and proactive Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) Coordinator to support the delivery of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Developing National Capability for Materials 4.0. This varied role will coordinate postgraduate researcher recruitment and onboarding, support the delivery of an innovative training programme, and provide operational support to a national, multi-partner doctoral training programme. The postholder will work with academics, students, industry partners and colleagues across the UK to deliver an excellent researcher experience, organise events and training activities, maintain records and reporting systems, and contribute to the smooth running of CDT operations.

We are looking for someone with excellent organisational and communication skills, experience coordinating complex processes involving multiple stakeholders, and a keen eye for detail. Join us and help shape the next generation of leaders in Materials 4.0.

You will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate the end-to-end PGR recruitment process, from project calls and advertisement through shortlisting, interviews, selection and to onboarding to the CDT.
  • Act as a key point of contact for applicants, PGRs, supervisors and industrial sponsors, ensuring a smooth and professional recruitment and onboarding experience.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of the CDT training programme in collaboration with CDT Directors, Leadership Team, and training providers.
  • Coordinate and support the running of residential training activities and events, including scheduling, risk assessments, logistics, and liaising with training content providers.
  • Provide operational support to the CDT Manager, deputising where required.

About You

Essential Criteria

  • Awareness of PGR or doctoral training environments, including student lifecycle processes.
  • Coordination of complex operational processes and managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Supporting recruitment, admissions or selection processes involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in record-keeping.

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of postgraduate PGR recruitment and selection processes within a higher education or research context.
  • Familiarity with UKRI/EPSRC funding requirements and guidelines.
  • Organising or delivering training activities.
  • Experience working on multi-partner projects.
  • Experience with eProg, Campus Solutions and/or Oracle.
