About Manchester
Right now, it’s Manchester’s time to shine. We have just launched our first ever major fundraising and volunteering campaign, and we’re building an exceptional team to champion bold thinking rooted in impact. As Campaign Volunteer Officer you’ll play a vital role in driving a key part of the campaign, giving our staff, students and alumni the opportunity to drive the success of the University.

If you have a fearless personality, boundless optimism, and a desire to create a healthier, fairer, and more sustainable world, we’d love you to get in touch.

The Role
Are you inspired by the difference volunteering can make? The Campaign Volunteer Officer will co-ordinate the volunteering element of the campaign, collaborating with colleagues across the University, introducing new initiatives and curating existing programmes. The role will be challenging and rewarding - a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering activities that make a real difference. The University already has a strong track record of volunteering across its staff, students, alumni and cultural institutions, and this role will be key to evidencing the impact of this activity and communicating its success. This role will be hybrid, with regular and frequent travel to Manchester required.

You’ll Do
You’ll co-ordinate engagement programmes, particularly for alumni, that drive strategic involvement and support campaign objectives. You’ll work closely with volunteer leads from across the University, ensuring there is a joined-up approach, and that a robust set of programmes are available. You’ll work with volunteers themselves to ensure their contribution is celebrated. You’ll manage relationships with key stakeholders, develop and lead initiatives for senior and influential alumni, and commission events that build relationships with our alumni, volunteers and supporters. You’ll also be responsible for measuring and showcasing the impact of volunteering, ensuring compelling stories and statistics are shared through communications and reports.

About You
You will bring a determined approach, and excellent problem-solving and project management skills. You will apply your strengths in building relationships to inspire and motivate colleagues and partners to get involved. You’ll have experience in delivering engagement or volunteering programmes, be results-oriented, and possess strong organisational and problem-solving abilities. And you will be enthusiastic about communicating what volunteering achieves for participants, the University, and our communities. A creative, enthusiastic approach, a hunger to take the initiative, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential.

What you’ll get in return
Fantastic market leading Pension scheme
Excellent employee health and wellbeing services including an Employee Assistance Programme
Exceptional starting annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays
Additional paid closure over the Christmas period
Local and national discounts at a range of major retailers
