The University of Manchester Facilities Maintenance and Compliance Unit are seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Electrical Inspector to join our team.

In this pivotal role, you will support the Electrical Engineers and wider electrical team ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and assist the FMC Electrical Section to monitor appropriate and acceptable standards of service in respect of electrical engineering design, installation, operation and maintenance.
  • Ensure electrical engineering activities in the allocated area of responsibility are compliant with statutory and legislative requirements and in accordance with UoM policies and specifications.

Qualifications

  • Appropriate vocational qualification to NVQ III, or an equivalent City & Guilds in an electrical engineering related discipline and substantial vocational experience.
  • An established track record in electrical project delivery.
  • Experience of a large site electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience in monitoring electrical standards.
  • Experience in managing and delivering maintenance activities.
  • Experience of producing quality briefing documents to enable consulting engineers to develop design briefs that meet the University’s requirement.
