The University Campus Support and Security Service provides a safe, secure and welcoming environment for its students, staff and visitors across the entire University Estate, providing welfare assistance as required, with the continuous aim of ensuring an inclusive, hospitable, supportive and safe environment for all.

Responsibilities

  • Resolving security situations with empathy, compassion and confidence.
  • Planning and organising the work of themselves and their team.
  • Demonstrating strong leadership skills in challenging circumstances.
  • Motivating and supporting an effective team.
  • Producing clear, accurate and concise documentation.
  • Demonstrating a strong understanding of various computer software packages.

Qualifications

  • Valid CCTV Public Space Surveillance qualification.
  • Security qualification OR demonstrable skills and knowledge gained through relevant industry experience.
  • Valid First Aid at Work certificate.
  • Full UK driving licence with at least 2 years of driving experience.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in planning and organising work for self and others.
  • Strong leadership skills in challenging circumstances.
  • Ability to motivate and support an effective team.
  • Experience producing clear, accurate and concise documentation.
  • Strong understanding of various computer software packages.
