Do you have excellent customer services skills? Are you looking to develop your skills working in a friendly student facing team?

If you have experience of providing excellent reception services, good IT skills and the ability to actively listen to customers and deal with unexpected situations with courtesy, diplomacy and patience, this role could be ideal for you.

Join us in the Accommodation Services Team, providing a friendly, helpful and informative reception service to students, staff and external visitors. We are looking to appoint seven Assistants to support our existing front of house team.

It is essential that in addition to having excellent customer service skills, you are able to deal calmly and confidently with all queries and bookings. Weekend work will be required as part of a rota system where you will work 4 days over 7 (1 out of 3 weekends) with additional support required to support key events such as Open Days, Offer holder Days and our arrivals in September and January.

As an Accommodation Services Assistant you can expect to be involved in:

  • Confidently resolving all initial enquiries from students, staff, residents, and others.
  • Providing a friendly, helpful and welcoming service to all visitors to the reception area of our halls, and act as a positive ambassador on behalf of the University, ensuring all communications are handled in a professional manner.
  • Acting as the central reception point for deliveries, sorting, and collecting post, taking and passing on urgent messages.
  • Assisting with supporting the commercial services team.
  • Acquiring expertise in both Accommodation and University policies and procedures in relation to students and their stays in accommodation in order to answer any enquiries accurately with knowledge.

  • Experience of working in a busy and demanding front facing customer service environment providing excellent customer care.
  • The ability to demonstrate experience handling difficult and unexpected situations.
  • A high level of IT skill and familiarity.
