We are currently looking to expand our bank of Visiting Lecturers to join our academic team in our centrally located Birmingham campus.

We are interested in hearing from applicants from any background that may be a fit for our Visiting Lecturer roles.

Reporting to our Academic Manager, you will be providing tuition across the University of Law Business School course portfolio. These will include delivering postgraduate and undergraduate BSc courses to the best possible standard.

You will enjoy being challenged (by students and course content in equal measure) and be able to adapt to the different learning styles of students and methods of course delivery. You will be eager to share your expertise, and the role will include marking in-course assignments and final assessments, as well as supporting students and dealing with queries.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and assess across The University of Law Business School course portfolio in such subjects as may be assigned to you. This will include teaching and assessing students across a range of written and presentation skills and giving individual feedback on students’ performances.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (in the business and/or management subjects offered in the Business School) or professional qualifications (e.g. qualified accountant or CFA)
  • Experience in teaching in Higher Education and working in an educational establishment
  • Organised and can prioritise their own workload
  • Excellent knowledge of academic theory and/or business practice in relevant discipline.
  • Confident and articulate presentation skills
  • Ability to be flexible and to respond to changing priorities in a busy environment
  • Punctual, good time management and prioritisation of workload
  • Flexible in terms of working hours to meet the demands of the contract
  • Willing to engage in building awareness of the Business School
  • Ability to work independently for short periods and as part of a team, whilst recognising when advice or input needs to be sought.
