The University of Law Business School provides industry accredited degrees (CMI, CIM, APM and ACCA) including Business Management, Marketing, Law and Accounting, designed specifically with employability in mind. We are currently looking for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to join our academic team in our centrally located Manchester campus, on a fixed term contract (Maternity Cover). We are interested in applicants from all Business subjects, but particularly specialisms in Marketing, HRM and Project Management. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in Harvard Case Method and online simulation.

Reporting to our Academic Manager, you will provide tuition across the University of Law Business School course portfolio, delivering postgraduate and undergraduate BSc courses to a high standard. You will be challenged by students and course content, adapt to different learning styles and methods of delivery, share your expertise, mark in-course assignments and final assessments, and support students and deal with queries.

Responsibilities
  • Teach and assess across the University of Law Business School course portfolio, including written and presentation skills and giving individual feedback.
  • Assist in the preparation of assignments and assessments.
  • Participate in course design and review.
  • Act as an academic coach to students, being available and willing to discuss students’ problems, performance and academic progression.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree (in Business and/or Management) or professional qualifications.
  • For Senior Lecturers: Fellowship of the HEA and Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PgCHE) or equivalent, with extensive relevant experience.
  • Teaching experience in a Higher Education setting or other educational establishment.
  • Flexibility to teach across a range of different subjects.
  • Punctual, professional and committed to teaching.
  • For Senior Lecturers: Demonstrated expertise in application and practical delivery of teaching techniques, pastoral care, mentoring colleagues, assessments and marking, and team leadership.
  • Enrolment in a PgCHE or equivalent programme within 12 months of probation if not already held.

  • Salary: Lecturer £40,500 - £42,500; Senior Lecturer £49,000 - £54,000.
