We are looking to recruit law lecturers to join our Academic Team at our Bristol Campus as either a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer on a permanent basis. This role operates on a 5-over-7-day working pattern, which may include evenings and weekends to support our flexible delivery mode.

We are interested in hearing from qualified Solicitors and/or Barristers and also welcome applications from experienced law lecturers. Reporting into our Academic Manager, you will be providing tuition across The University of Law course portfolio including, LLB law degree, academic LLM, vocational LLM, law conversion programmes, Solicitors’ Qualifying Exam and Legal Practice Course to the best possible standard.

  • Deliver high quality teaching and support for learning, including communication with other academics for the continuous improvement of teaching and student support.
  • Identify the need for developing the content, structure, assessment within modules with colleagues and make proposals on how this should be achieved.
  • Contribute to effective design and review of inclusive learning.
  • Maintain quality standards and regulations in curricular and assessment design.
  • Routinely communicate complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers using high level skills.
  • Act as a module lecturer, academic coach and sign-post students on pastoral aspects during their learning journey.

Is this you?:

  • Sufficient breadth and depth of professional experience in the relevant discipline to develop teaching programmes and learning support.
  • Professional, credible, commands respect.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in law, or undergraduate degree in any subject plus law conversion course.
  • Qualified solicitor or barrister with legal practice experience and/or previous experience as a law lecturer.
  • Willingness to teach evenings and weekends where required.
  • Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA) PgCHE, PgCE or equivalent.

For Senior Lecturers you will have developed significant expertise in:

  • Application and practical delivery of a range of teaching techniques, pastoral care, mentoring colleagues, assessments and marking, team leadership.

On top of a salary of Lecturer £40,250 - £42,250 & Senior Lecturer: £48,000 - £53,000 you will enjoy:
