Join to apply for the Academic Manager – Moorgate role at The University of Law. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Academic Manager to join us at our Moorgate Business School Campus full time on a fixed term contract (until June 2026) to cover maternity leave. Reporting to the Head of Faculty and Academic Resources, you will be responsible for the leadership, management and development of our team of lecturers.

Employment type: Temporary

Seniority level: Mid‑Senior Level

Responsibilities:

  • People manage: including performance management, PDRs, absent management and career development
  • Establish effective use and apportionment of staff resource and optimise campus resource allocation in liaison with the Campus Dean
  • Develop, monitor and upkeep the quality performance of the academic team, delivering sector‑leading quality results
  • Motivate and develop the team, raising their external academic and professional profile
  • Ensure high levels of learning and teaching quality on campus and an outstanding student and client experience
  • Liaise with Programme and Student Leads to provide academic staff resource for the development and delivery of courses

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master’s degree (in business and/or management subjects offered in the Business School) or professional qualifications (e.g., qualified accountant or CFA)
  • Experience teaching in Higher Education and working in an educational establishment
  • Organised and can prioritise own workload
  • Excellent knowledge of academic theory and/or business practice in relevant discipline
  • Confident and articulate presentation skills
  • Ability to be flexible and respond to changing priorities in a busy environment
  • Punctual, good time management and prioritisation of workload
  • Flexible in terms of working hours to meet contract demands
  • Willing to engage in building awareness of the Business School
  • Ability to work independently for short periods and as part of a team, while recognising when advice/input is needed
