Overview
Academic Manager role at The University of Law — Moorgate Business School Campus. Full-time, on a fixed term contract (until June 2026).
An exciting opportunity to join our team and lead, manage and develop the academic team on campus. Reporting to the Head of Faculty and Academic Resources, you will be responsible for the leadership, management and development of our lecturers.
Responsibilities
- People management, including performance management, PDRs, absence management and career development
- Establish effective use and allocation of staff resources and optimise campus resource allocation in liaison with the Campus Dean
- Develop, monitor and uphold the quality performance of the academic team, delivering sector-leading quality results
- Motivate and develop the team, including raising their external academic and professional profile
- Ensure high levels of learning and teaching quality on campus and deliver an outstanding student and client experience
- Liaise with Programme and Student Leads to provide academic staff resources to contribute to the development and delivery of courses
We are looking for individuals who are/have
- Master’s degree (in business and/or management subjects offered in the Business School) or professional qualifications (e.g., qualified accountant or CFA)
- Experience in teaching in Higher Education and working in an educational establishment
- Organised with ability to prioritise own workload
- Excellent knowledge of academic theory and/or business practice in a relevant discipline
- Confident and articulate presentation skills
- Flexible and able to respond to changing priorities in a busy environment
- Punctual with good time management and prioritisation of workload
- Flexible in terms of working hours to meet the demands of the contract
- Willing to engage in building awareness of the Business School
- Ability to work independently for short periods and as part of a team, while recognising when advice/input is needed

Salary: £58,500 per year. Annual leave entitlement: 35 days. Benefits include:
