An exciting opportunity exists to work within the Procurement Team as part of the Financial Services Department, which supports the Schools and Services of the University. As Senior Category Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of procurement at the University, driving best practices, and making a lasting impact.
We are seeking an experienced professional with a passion for strategic procurement and a strong commitment to excellence. The role will primarily focus on procurements within the Estates and Facilities category but will also have some additional focus on wider category areas. This includes ensuring all procurements in relevant category areas are compliant, running and managing high-level tenders, and working with senior stakeholders to ensure procurement supports the delivery of strategic projects. The role also includes line management responsibilities.
Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience and with full completion of the MCIPS qualification, you will possess extensive knowledge of procurement regulations, strategic tendering, and financial compliance, with a proven track record of managing complex procurement projects and influencing senior stakeholders. You will have exceptional leadership skills and be capable of inspiring and developing a team. A proactive approach to promoting sustainability, diversity, and inclusion is also essential, along with the ability to adapt to evolving market and regulatory conditions.
