The Opportunity
Your next step starts here. Be part of the Employ.ed for PhDs Internship Programme. Join the Insights team, a collaborative group within the Careers Service and Development and Alumni teams, as a Research Project Intern. You will conduct longitudinal research to evidence the impact of the Insights Programme since its inception in 2017/18 on student participants, alumni hosts and associated organisations, as well as the University. The goal is to understand and celebrate both the short‑ and long‑term impact, informing the case for continued investment. During this role you will gain experience of project management, research, communication and writing case studies and reports. Report to the Insights Project Managers, Kristin Sargeant and Eilidh Steele, and the wider Insights Team.
Responsibilities
- Design and conduct longitudinal research on the impact of the Insights Programme.
- Analyse data using statistical analysis software/tools.
- Prepare reports and case studies communicating research findings.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including students, alumni, hosts, and internal staff.
- Support project management activities and deliver project milestones.
Qualifications
- A current University of Edinburgh PhD student.
- Good organisational and time‑management skills.
- Experience working collaboratively in a team to deliver projects.
- Knowledge of Office 365 and project‑management software.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to conduct informational interviews effectively.
- Experience using statistical analysis software/tools.
