Join us as an Ophthalmic Imager and Analyst and help advance health research at the University of Edinburgh.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people and technology to support high‑quality ophthalmic imaging for clinical research studies. In this role, you will use a range of imaging systems (including scanning laser ophthalmoscopes, fundus cameras and optical coherence tomography devices) to capture clear, reliable images of the eye. As the retina is closely linked to the brain and the body’s circulation, these images offer a unique, non‑invasive window into wider health. By helping us collect and measure these images, you will contribute to research exploring conditions that affect the eye, brain and body. You will carry out eye‑imaging assessments, welcome and guide study participants, and work closely with research teams to ensure each visit runs smoothly. You will also help measure and analyse images using specialist software, following established protocols to support accurate and consistent results. This is a hands‑on role where your attention to detail, communication skills and commitment to a positive participant experience will make a real difference. We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds and will provide full training in our imaging systems and procedures.

Benefits

  • Opportunities to develop new skills and broaden your experience
  • Leading‑edge research

Championing equality, diversity, and inclusion
