We are looking for an expert in the specialist field of Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in Clinical research to lead and embed high‑quality PPI across the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine and NHS Lothian’s Clinical Research Facility (CRF). The postholder will provide specialist expertise to enhance research delivery and strengthen funding applications, manage the CRF PPI team, contribute to the wider PPIE network, and support Clinical Research national strategy through a one‑day‑per‑week role as NHS Research Scotland PPI Lead.

About the Team: Edinburgh Clinical Research Facility (CRF) provides state‑of‑the‑art facilities to support multidisciplinary clinical research locally, nationally and internationally. CRF is a joint venture between the University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian. The Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility was established in the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh in July 2001 as the first dedicated CRF in Scotland. Further facilities opened at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in 2003 and the Royal Hospital for Sick Children (Children’s CRF) in 2009. At Edinburgh CRF, we are dedicated to delivering high quality, multi‑disciplinary patient‑orientated research. We are made up of purpose‑built clinical areas with highly trained research staff, integrated information technology services and a quality assurance team. We offer specialist support in the form of genetics, mass spectrometry and image analysis labs, an imaging core, statistics expertise, a highly regarded education programme and a patient and public involvement and engagement advisor.
