Graphic Design Intern (Employ.ed on Campus)

Grade UE03: £24,729 - £25,804 per annum pro-rata for part-time.

College of Science and Engineering / School of Chemistry.

Full-time: 35 hours per week.

Fixed-term: for 8 weeks, with flexibility to work 3–4 days per week, extending the internship duration up to 10-12 weeks.

The Opportunity: We are looking for a Graphic Design Intern who will apply their graphic design skills and creative talents to transform the way that the School of Chemistry’s cutting-edge research capabilities, state‑of‑the‑art facilities and strength in collaboration are promoted to external partners, in particular industry. The School of Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh has a strong and longstanding ethos of collaboration with industry, driving innovation and real‑world impact through collaborative research, consultancy, and the provision of advanced technical capabilities. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work with researchers and industry partners to develop targeted graphic design interventions to drive enhanced engagement and opportunities for collaboration and innovation in this exciting sector.

Employ.ed on Campus internships are ONLY open to 2nd year to penultimate year undergraduate students from the University of Edinburgh based in the UK. You cannot take part if you are a visiting student, or you have already taken part in the programme before.

• Strong graphic design skills including experience using design tools.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Self‑motivation and the ability to work independently to deliver results.
• Good organisational skills.
• Interest in research and industry collaboration and enthusiasm for enhancing engagement.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we will consider a part-time arrangement, with a corresponding extension of the internship duration up to 10‑12 weeks. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non‑contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on‑campus working.
