The Opportunity: As a Student Ambassador for ACES Edinburgh, you will support us in achieving big results for under-represented and disadvantaged young people interested in studying art, design, or architecture at university. We offer a range of events from Portfolio Preparation to one-off events and talks online as well as in-person, and you will help us make these happen.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the ACES Portfolio Preparation Programme on Fridays 13:00-18:00 between 11 September 2026 and 22 January 2027.
  • Help organise and run portfolio preparation events, one-off events, online talks, and in-person sessions.
  • Assist with scheduling, venue coordination and participant communication as required.

As most shifts will be available from September to January around Portfolio Prep, the successful applicants must be available to work Fridays 13:00-18:00 between 11 September 2026 to 22 January 2027.

Qualifications:

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • You are a current, full-time, matriculated student (including academic session 2026-27) within the School of Design or ESALA at Edinburgh College of Art.
  • An understanding of, and empathy for, the student groups targeted within Widening Participation programmes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility and time-management skills.
  • You are a team player who strives to support colleagues and participants.
  • All candidates must be English speaking and have a good knowledge of basic Microsoft Office tools.

About the Team: Student Recruitment and Admissions (SRA) leads the design, development and implementation of the University of Edinburgh’s strategy for student recruitment, admissions, and widening participation.
