The School of Chemistry is looking for a highly motivated summer intern to contribute to the development of a graphical user interface (GUI) for our innovative NMR-based fragment screening methodology. Our approach enables fast and efficient identification of potential lead compounds in drug discovery, with a significant reduction in screening time. To make this methodology widely available, we need to develop a user-friendly GUI that streamlines the analysis of hundreds of NMR spectra, allowing for minimal intervention and "push-button" operation.
Main responsibilities:
- Develop a GUI using Python and relevant libraries to analyse NMR spectra.
- Collaborate with the research team to deliver maximum portability and usability of the product.
- Test and validate the GUI with sample datasets provided by the research team.
Expected commencement date: July 1st 2026 (8-week internship). This post is full-time (35 hours per week) for a maximum of 8 weeks.
