Full-time: 40 hours per week

Fixed term: CCT date + 6 months

Trainees in all GMC‐recognised medical and surgical specialties except primary care practitioners

Candidates from across the UK

You are required to be a practicing healthcare professional in the UK/Republic of Ireland , and to be registered with a national professional regulatory body (eg the General Medical Council) in the UK/Republic of Ireland.

Non‐UK citizens are welcome to apply, but you must be suitable for sponsorship under a Skilled Worker visa.

Candidates must hold (or obtain by the start date of the post) a specialty training position with a National Training Number (NTN), with the expectation that they will undertake their clinical duties in NHS Lothian. Exceptional circumstances will be considered on a case‐by‐case basis.

Applicants must have GMC registration, a postgraduate degree (PhD or MD) or a submitted thesis, and relevant clinical experience in the chosen specialty. Evidence of conducting research, a commitment to a career in academic medicine, excellent communication skills, and command of the English language are required. Distinction in career to date (prizes, awards, bursaries), a successful research record, teaching experience, and grant‐seeking ability are desirable.

Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check required.
