We are seeking a skilled facilitator with experience working with people with severe mental illness for a Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) Coordinator position working on the ENERGISE-BD randomised controlled trial. ENERGISE‐BD is a flagship randomised controlled trial in the field of metabolic psychiatry, comparing nutritional ketosis with the NHS Eatwell diet for bipolar depression. The PPIE Coordinator will carry out a portfolio of involvement and engagement activities for the project.

The primary focus of the role will be working alongside PPIE Lead Dr. Iain Campbell and a Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP) comprised of ~14 members, organising monthly online meetings and an annual in‐person meeting. This will involve producing structured qualitative LEAP input and feedback to inform the trial team and steering group, for example, on the design of assessments in the trial and the content of Participant Information Sheets. The role will also engage with patient support organisations to raise awareness and distribute recruitment materials, supporting the study's recruitment targets.

We are seeking candidates with a demonstrated commitment to patient involvement in research, and experience in creating a safe, compassionate environment with safeguarding considerations for work with vulnerable groups.
