Edinburgh Innovations Ltd (EIL) is a wholly‑owned subsidiary company of the University of Edinburgh, responsible for pre‑award research support services, management of technology transfer activities, consultancy services, company formation and company incubation facilities. We are committed to facilitating the University’s research, knowledge and expertise to make impactful contributions to society and the economy.
Due to internal promotions, we now require a Consultancy Associate who is seeking to join an ambitious and enthusiastic team, motivated by providing excellent service and proud of the work we do. This role is designed to support EIL and the University of Edinburgh in increasing its consultancy income above £20m, aligning with the University’s strategy of reimagining our size, shape and ways of working to secure the long‑term future of our university.
EIL provides comprehensive support to all University staff considering undertaking consultancy and commercial service activities. We are responsible for facilitating the costing, drafting, reviewing, negotiating and signing of all Consultancy and Commercial Service contracts and all related documents in line with University policy and procedures. This role will predominately support our activity in the College of Science & Engineering.
The College of Science & Engineering consists of 7 Schools:

- Physics and Astronomy
- Mathematics
- Chemistry
- GeoSciences
- Engineering
