Overview

Grade UE06: £34,610 to £39,906 per annum, pro-rata. Science and Engineering / School of Geosciences. Part-time: 28 hours per week. Fixed term: until 31 March 2026, with possible extension pending funding.

Opportunity

ClimateXChange – Scotland’s Centre of Expertise connecting climate change research and policy – is looking for a dynamic communications officer with a passion for climate communications and a flair for telling powerful impact stories. You will join the busy ClimateXChange team to support the planning and delivery of communications and engagement activities across all our projects connecting climate change research and policy. This post is part-time (28 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working. The salary for this post is £34,610 to £39,906 per annum (pro rata).

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and delivery of communications and engagement activities across ClimateXChange projects, connecting climate change research and policy.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Very strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience of writing and editing for a policy audience
  • Experience using a range of communications channels and online platforms to create engaging, accessible content
  • Highly organised and able to manage and prioritise a busy workload
