The Opportunity:
Your next step starts here. Be part of something bigger. We are looking for an intern to join the Analytical Services and Collections Teams within the School of GeoSciences for a 10‑week summer internship. This role will allow you to get behind the scenes of research by being actively involved in lab work and in the collections of the School. You can expect to prepare samples for, and carry out, chemical analysis using specialist scientific instrumentation and get involved in cataloguing of specimens held within the School’s extensive collections. This placement is ideal for students looking to build practical, hands‑on experience in a lab, research support, and collections management.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Chemistry knowledge (SQA Higher minimum).
- An understanding of the importance of health and safety.
- Familiar with MS Office (especially Excel).
- Ability to communicate verbally.
- Ability to work independently.
