College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine / School of Population Health Sciences / Usher Institute
Full Time – 35 Hours per Week. Fixed Term Contract available from 11 May 2026 to 10 May 2027.
Location - Usher Building, Biquarter, Edinburgh.
This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week). We will consider part-time or flexible working patterns (minimum of 17.5 hours per week). We will also consider requests for hybrid working that combines remote and on-campus work. A minimum of 40% on campus working is expected.
The Centre for Population Health Sciences at the Usher Institute within The University of Edinburgh is looking for talented researchers from cohorts 1 and 2 of the ACRC Academy who plan to develop an external fellowship application.
The Opportunity
We are looking for candidates from the ACRC Academy who have an emerging track record of innovative research and/or translation, and the potential to make a contribution to furthering the ACRC’s strategic goals by developing at least one fellowship application focusing on care in later life, multimorbidity, healthy ageing, or a closely related field. Applications are welcome from ACRC Academy PhD students from across the full range of disciplines. We particularly welcome applicants who wish to continue to use their leadership skills in working across disciplinary boundaries to research advanced care and its associated societal challenges.
Your skills and attributes for success
- PhD from the ACRC Academy or an ACRC Academy submitted PhD thesis with a passed viva subject to minor corrections by the anticipated start date of the fellowship.
- Experience in studying or researching advanced care and its associated societal challenges.
- Experience in studying interdisciplinary leadership in an advanced care setting.
- Demonstrated research skills in one or more disciplines.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
