Job context: The ELSA study is recruiting 70,000 children aged between 2-17 years of age; this role involves the making up of the testing kits for dispatch to participants’ homes and to testing clinics.
Job summary: The successful applicant will work alongside the ELSA study team to make up sample testing kits; this will involve packing kit components into the packs ready for dispatch. This role may also require adding address labels and person ID labels to kits and ensuring quality assurance of kits to be sent out. In addition, this role will organise stock for the office and send out stock requests to clinics.
Main duties:
- Making up home sample testing kits and testing kits to send out to clinics
- Ensuring the correct components are added to testing kits
- Fixing address and person ID labels to kits
- Performing routine quality checks
- Organising and sending out stock requests to clinics
- Liaising with the study team regarding ordering new supplies and keeping check of stock within office
Required knowledge, skills, qualifications & experience:
- Available between Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 4pm
- Excellent time keeping
- This role involves repetitive work
- Able to communicate effectively
- Ability to work within a team is essential and appropriately reports issues to manager
- Work to GDPR requirements with an understanding of good practice with handling personal data and confidentiality
Further details: The maximum working hours will be subject to Casual Working Hour Restrictions. Usual working hours are between 8am and 4pm, Mon-Fri. Exact days and hours can be flexible. This position will be part-time during term time and can be either full-time or part-time outside of term time, based on preference.
