Due to the semi-retirement of our practice manager, we are looking to restructure our current management team to include an operations manager. The successful candidate would be joining a very motivated and friendly team, providing care to approximately 9500 patients in the Eastern Vale cluster.

The Role

The Operations Manager will play a key leadership role within the practice, ensuring that operational processes run smoothly and that the practice meets its clinical, financial, and contractual objectives.

Working closely with the GP Partners, Practice Business Manager, and clinical teams, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, supporting staff, and improving patient services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the practice.
  • Lead and support administrative and reception teams.
  • Develop and implement efficient systems and processes.
  • Monitor performance against key targets and contracts.
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, and staff development.
  • Ensure compliance with NHS regulations, policies, and governance requirements.
  • Oversee patient access, appointment systems, and service delivery.
  • Manage complaints and contribute to patient experience improvements.
  • Support financial planning, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Lead quality improvement and change management initiatives.

We are a very enthusiastic and well-managed and organised practice, established within the Eastern Vale Cluster (EVC) of Cardiff & Vale University Health Board. Currently we have a list size of circa 9,500.
