Kitchen Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated kitchen assistant to join our kitchen team. This role is essential in supporting the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring that food preparation, safety standards and cleanliness are maintained at the highest level.

Duties

• Assist with meal preparation and food assembly
• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring as needed
• Support cooking processes by handling basic tasks such as mixing, assembling, and plating dishes
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to meet food safety standards
• Handle food safely by following proper storage, sanitation, and hygiene procedures
• Assist with food service during busy hours, including plating and serving dishes when required
• Kitchen porter duties such as washing dishes, cutlery, trays, pots and pans.

Skills

• Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential, training will be provided
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Ability to multitask effectively
• Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
• Prior experience in the food industry is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential

Availability to work during the week, including evenings and weekends is a must.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
