From generating standout creative ideas to developing clear, actionable approaches to bring them to life across relevant channels, you will create original design solutions across creative campaigns including web design, brand development, social, animation, video and print, ensuring that your work creates impact and supports positive behaviour change with our target audiences.
You will design full end-to-end campaign creative working in tandem with the marketing coordinator and supporting the marcomms team and wider Engagement teams, for a range of different campaigns and creative projects. You will draw on insight and campaign strategy to understand audiences, generate ideas and create engaging visual communications that will create positive behaviour change in line with our business needs.
You will be responsible for the generation and implementation of innovative and creative ideas and will be expected to contribute to marcomms brainstorms, sketching sessions or other internal and external meetings.
Your primary creative tasks include the design and improvement of our website, brand, e-newsletters, printed marketing materials and any other assets required by our teams. You will need to be able to validate website initiatives including HTML and CSS feedback. You will need to audit and set the standard and provide outstanding design work that meets the brief, is on budget and delivered within strict deadlines. You will produce artwork to aid campaign rollout, adhering to brand guidelines.
You will need to commission, co-ordinate and manage external suppliers such as printers, photographers, videographers and digital agencies when required. Provide expertise and advice to the UK Agri-Tech Centre team on all aspects of design and creative. This is a hybrid role which can be based at any of our hubs: Newport (Midlands), Oxford, York, Edinburgh.
Key responsibilities
- Creation of high-quality design and digital assets.
- Production of deliverables for use across all UKATC digital platforms including our website, email, and social platforms.
- Upholding a balance of creativity and brand consistency throughout our artwork.
- Working within a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and delivering them within specified timeframes.
- Postproduction and photo editing of selected photography.
- You must bring your excellent design software skills and a strong understanding of what looks good and why to our business.
- You will need to understand in detail website functionality and the implication this can have on your designs, as well as the wider impact of creativity on marketing performance.
- You are expected to produce work efficiently and to a high standard.
- Update the UK Agri-Tech Centre website with case studies of our latest work.
- Help with uploading website content via Wordpress.
- Suggest creative ideas and initiatives beyond your day-to-day role.
- You work collaboratively and welcome constructive feedback from various members of the organisation, requiring flexibility.
- You must be able to focus and work efficiently by yourself, whilst still utilising the support and advice of the team.
- You will communicate with the wider team to actively support other initiatives when appropriate.
- Monitor, analyse and report on the performance of digital channels/activities using tools like Google Analytics and Search Console, feeding back to stakeholders and using the data to inform future activities.
- Prioritise and schedule work effectively, anticipating problems and adjusting the allocation of resources and time accordingly.
- Contribute to and work with team and stakeholders to develop, manage and implement the design and digital side of our integrated marketing campaigns.
- Work with and manage contractors, suppliers and freelancers as authorised to support the role.
- Remain current with our policies and procedures.
- Act responsibly with data held by UK Agri-Tech Centre that you may have access to as part of your role, adhering to the provided guidelines and policies and reporting any concerns or possible breaches.
- Strong understanding of design packages including CANVA, Sketch/Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is essential.
- Basic video editing and animation skills are desirable.
- Lead on the day-to-day management of our digital channels, creating inspirational, informative and engaging content.
- Create graphics and edit photos.
What we are looking for
- A portfolio that shows extensive experience of original design solutions across creative campaigns.
- Educated to degree level or an equivalent qualification in design and/or have an outstanding creative portfolio demonstrating experience across a range of creative disciplines – including branding, web design, social, motion design and print.
- Confident in all stages of the creative process from briefing and concept creation through to delivery and implementation you can meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
- This role requires someone who is creative and can identify, create, manage and deliver digital content using a range of techniques, across channels including websites, social media and webinars.
- The role will work across a range of projects in the organisation and therefore effective working relationships will need to be formed with various internal teams, external stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software in particular Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, In Design and XD.
- Experience of photography and creating/editing images, using packages such as Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience of video production, including filming, editing (preferably using Final Cut Pro or similar) and delivering via channels such as YouTube.
- Experience developing and managing social media campaigns across channels such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, using tools like AgoraPulse / Hootsuite.
- Understanding of digital analytics and metrics, their importance and the tools to monitor, manage and evaluate them, like Google Analytics and AgoraPulse / Hootsuite.
- Experience using web content management systems, preferably Umbraco or .NET commercial solutions.
- Experience using Keynote or After Effects (or similar software for animation) is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Trello, Slack and Teams is useful but not essential.
- Experience in designing for the web and understanding of basic UX practice in web design.
- Experience in producing animations for social and the web.
- Knowledge of best practices in accessibility for the web and print.
- Strong creative skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments, members and suppliers.
- Able to deliver a range of concurrent projects, on-time and to budget.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and structure work schedules.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- You maintain good housekeeping around digital files and assets.
- Able to communicate and express complex and technical ideas in plain English to a variety of audiences.
- You are confident talking to clients and presenting ideas and creative to colleagues in meetings.
- Highly organised, with strong time management and planning skills.
- Able to work across a variety of different formats and outputs for both print and digital.
- Experience working in a team, working to brief specifics, delivering multiple projects simultaneously in an accurate and timely fashion.
