We are seeking a skilled Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklift trucks to move, load, and unload materials efficiently and safely within our storage facility. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure smooth logistics and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Operate counterbalance forklift trucks to load and unload goods with precision and care
- Handle materials in accordance with warehouse procedures, ensuring safe stacking and storage
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately
- Conduct routine inspections of forklift equipment and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance as needed
- Support overall warehouse organisation by maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Assist with stock replenishment, order picking, and other logistical activities as required
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all operations
Qualifications
- Valid forklift licence for counterbalance trucks recognised by relevant authorities
- Proven experience in warehouse management systems and materials handling
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of warehouse procedures including shipping & receiving processes
- Ability to perform basic maths for inventory counts and measurements
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or manoeuvring in a warehouse setting
- Prior experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided if necessary
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks
