About The Twenty Two
The Twenty Two is a private members' club and hotel set within a Grade II listed townhouse on Grosvenor Square, with a second property in New York. Behind the door is a world of exceptional design, celebrated food and drink, and a membership drawn from across the arts, business and culture. We are known for warmth as much as for polish, and for treating every member and guest as though they are arriving at a home rather than a hotel.
The Role
Our Doormen are the first and last impression of The Twenty Two. You will hold the door, welcome members and guests by name where you know them, manage access to the building with discretion, and maintain a calm and secure environment at all times. It is a role that asks for presence rather than prominence, and for judgement as much as procedure.
What you will be doing:
- Welcoming members, guests and residents on arrival, and assisting with departures, luggage, transport and directions
- Managing access to the building, verifying membership and reservations, and politely turning away those without entitlement to enter
- Monitoring the entrance, forecourt and immediate surroundings, and responding promptly to any concern
- Supporting the wider Security team with patrols, incident reporting, key control and CCTV monitoring as required
- Maintaining the presentation of the entrance and adjacent areas
- Working closely with Reception, Membership and Food and Beverage colleagues to ensure a seamless arrival experience
- Acting as a first responder in the event of a fire alarm, medical incident or emergency evacuation, in line with our procedures
What we are looking for:
Essential:
- A valid SIA Door Supervisor licence
- The right to work in the United Kingdom
- Previous experience as a doorman, door supervisor or in a front of house security role, ideally within a luxury hotel, private members' club or high end retail or residential setting
- Exceptional presentation and a naturally warm, courteous manner
- The confidence to handle difficult situations calmly and without escalation
- Absolute discretion, particularly where high profile members and guests are concerned
- Physical fitness sufficient for extended periods standing and for assisting with luggage
- Flexibility to work a 4 on / 4 off schedule
Desirable:
- First aid at work certification
- Fire marshal training
- Additional languages
- Familiarity with Mayfair and central London, including restaurants, theatres and transport
What we offer:
- Competitive salary plus a share of service charge
- 20 days holiday - increasing with long term employment
- Meals on duty prepared by our culinary team
- Uniform provided and laundered
- Employer pension contribution
- Access to Hospitality Action Employee Assistance Programme
- Structured training and clear progression within the Security function and the wider business
- Recognition through our internal reward programmes and long service awards
