If you live for the moment a dessert lands on the pass looking exactly as you imagined it, we would love to meet you. The Twenty Two is a luxury boutique hotel and private members club set within a restored townhouse on Grosvenor Square, in the very heart of Mayfair. Behind the doors is one of London's most talked about pastry sections, turning out restaurant desserts and showpieces for private events. Every plate is an occasion, and pastry is where a lot of the magic happens.
We are looking for a Junior Pastry Sous Chef with real ambition to join the London brigade. This is a chance to sharpen your craft alongside an experienced team, take ownership of your section, and build your career within a celebrated London property that takes pastry seriously.
A day in the section
Reporting to the senior pastry team, you will help drive the daily running of the section. One service you might be finishing delicate petit fours for a member event, the next you are dialling in a new plated dessert or guiding a commis through their first batch of laminated dough. You will deputise for the senior chefs when needed and take genuine pride in keeping every detail beautiful and consistent.
What you will be doing
- Preparing and serving pastry across the restaurant, afternoon tea, room service, and private events, always to an exceptional standard.
- Bringing your own ideas to menu development and seasonal changes alongside the senior pastry team.
- Owning your section, from mise en place and ordering through to stock rotation and minimising waste.
- Supporting, training, and inspiring the commis and junior chefs around you.
- Keeping food safety, allergen, and hygiene standards faultless, with the paperwork to match.
- Stepping up to lead the section during service when the senior chefs are away.
What you will bring
- Solid experience in a pastry kitchen, ideally within a luxury hotel, fine dining, or high end restaurant.
- A real passion for pastry, strong technical skills, and an eye for detail that does not switch off.
- The calm and consistency to deliver under pressure in a busy, high standard kitchen.
- A positive, generous attitude and a genuine appetite to learn and grow.
- A good grasp of food safety and allergen management.
- Flexibility across a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- The right to work in the United Kingdom.
Why The Twenty Two
- A creative, supportive kitchen inside one of London's most distinctive addresses.
- Real investment in your development, with clear opportunities to progress.
- A competitive salary and benefits package.
- The chance to be part of a close team that genuinely cares about getting it right.
