The Role: We're looking for a London-based Senior Juice Developer to join our NPD team and take ownership of product development across our Private Label and branded ranges. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role - from concept through to launch - with real accountability for formulation quality, project delivery, and cross-functional execution. Based primarily in London, you'll work closely with our Product Design Director to bring products to market that meet the standards of partners, including Sainsbury's, M&S, Tesco, Waitrose, and coffee chains like Nero and Starbucks. The responsibilities as Senior Juice Developer include:
- Lead formulation and development of juice and functional beverages across Private Label and branded ranges
- Own projects end-to-end, from concept through to launch, against timelines and customer requirements
- Drive bench trials, pilot trials, and scale-up processes through to factory implementation
- Act as the key internal point of contact across Technical, Production, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams
- Lead shelf-life testing, validation, and product optimisation
- Support ingredient sourcing, supplier engagement, and cost optimisation
- Ensure accurate documentation of formulations, specifications, and trial outcomes
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within product development
- Prepare samples for internal review and support Commercial with customer submissions where required
The skillset required includes:
- Degree or relevant qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or related field
- Proven experience in beverage or juice product development (ideally 3–5+ years)
- Strong understanding of the full product development process, from concept to launch
- Experience working with retailers and/or Private Label accounts
- Technical knowledge of ingredients, formulations, and processing
- Excellent project management, documentation, and organisational skills
- Strong communicator, able to collaborate across multiple internal teams
- Proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable managing competing priorities
