The Hop Tub is a brewery and tap room on Hurstpierpoint High Street. We are a relaxed but forward thinking microbrewery and kitchen with our focus on providing exceptional flavour and customer service. We are all about being a welcoming, open and vibrant place that belongs to the heart of its community.

Imagine hand crafted beer, with big interesting flavours, alongside well crafted classic lagers, small batch Hard Seltzers and amazing hand selected award winning wines that all match with a local foodie palate. Now imagine a street food inspired menu bursting with fresh locally sourced ingredients, exceptional quality meats from local farms, cooked in our smoker and an inspiring forward thinking vegan and vegetarian offering.

Our Sundays are all about great quality, comforting roast dinners and delicious desserts and our arms wide open style of hospitality means everyone gets the same warm welcome and care. In case you haven't guessed it already, we are all about providing people with a place they would want to call a home from home where we all hang out, eat, drink, laugh, chat and enjoy everything in between.

You only need to check out our google reviews to see that we have a really strong reputation for delivering an exceptional experience, every single time.

We are looking for someone as a key part of our small owner/operator team. We are looking for someone creative and who has a natural enthusiasm for food. We think someone who has a bright personality, likes working in a team that embraces new ideas and enjoys thinking and working outside the box would be a perfect fit.

You’ll be helping to prepare, cook and provide amazing street food and casual dining dishes for our menu that will appeal to our customer base and fit the ethos and personality of the Hop Tub. Not only will you be responsible for delivering dishes that wow our audience, you’ll be involved in helping to create food that will be a match to our ever changing beer selection, all made in our on-site brewery.

Much like with any kitchen, you’ll report into a young dynamic head chef and will be supporting the day to day as well as leading in their absence. You will also be responsible for supporting and managing a team of KPs, and a Chef De Partie. This is a hands on opportunity where you’ll get to feed into an ever developing business with new exciting ideas, menus and our ever evolving offer.

Naturally you will look after ordering, stock management and control as well as maintaining a high level of hygiene so a good knowledge of health and safety practices is needed and a Level 1 Food Hygiene certificate.

The position would suit either someone wanting to take a step into or towards their first Sous chef role or a current Sous chef who has worked with a small team, in a dynamic kitchen and wants to be part of something special.

Start date is flexible with a deadline of late April. Our working week of shifts is from Wed-Mon. Paid overtime available. Staff discounts and a really lovely working environment in the picturesque South Downs.
