Summary
This role is vital to the delivery of high-quality safe patient care at Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH), offering a rare opportunity for an inspiring and talented individual to help shape the future of our service. The organisation is currently embarking on a journey of transformation. We are seeking an individual who can motivate and lead our excellent team to achieve our strategic ambitions, to ensure we are delivering outstanding, safe patient-centred care.
You will be joining a team of 44 consultants and 10 SAS anaesthetists providing elective and emergency perioperative care. We gained Anaesthesia Clinical Services Accreditation (ACSA) in August 2018. We have two major sites, one at Clatterbridge Hospital providing purely scheduled care, and another at Arrowe Park Hospital which also provides urgent and emergency care. We have an enthusiastic acute pain team with two consultants and two full-time nurse specialists. Our critical care unit has 18 level II & III beds, providing a full range of support for patients in the post-operative period.

We have approximately 855 beds trust-wide and our financial turnover is in excess of £337m.
