Overview

St Cuthbert\’s Roman Catholic Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All post holders are subject to appropriate vetting procedures and a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service disclosure. St Augustine\’s School are looking for a Food & Art Technician to work under the direction of the Head of Faculty and Teachers within the faculty to ensure the effective running of the art and food departments. You will give technical support including preparation of materials, and offering support for pupils and staff with lessons. You will also ensure that all faculty Health and Safety protocols are adhered to.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for the art and food departments, including preparation of materials.
  • Assist pupils and staff with lessons as required.
  • Ensure adherence to faculty Health and Safety protocols.
  • Operate and supervise workshop equipment safely and confidently.
  • Support the use of timbers, metals and plastics associated with workshop processes.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work with a range of timbers, metals and plastics associated with workshop processes.
  • Mechanical experience in order to use machines safely and confidently.
  • A passion for Food technology and knowledge of food hygiene requirements.
  • The ability to establish excellent relationships with all pupils and staff.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • A supportive approach to the Catholic ethos of the school and the care the school provides.
