About the Role

The post holder is responsible for overseeing the delivery and monitoring of a range of Facilities services essential for the effective working of the Trust, including domestic, catering, portering, waste, pest control, linen/laundry and other Facilities functions as required. The role contributes to high‑quality patient care by ensuring premises are well‑managed and maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor internal contracts (pest control, window cleaning, waste) and participate in regular contract review meetings.
  • Meet regularly with Department Heads (e.g., Renal Dialysis Units, Queen Mary’s, Beckenham Beacon, Orpington) to discuss service delivery.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to the CEF Management team.
  • Deliver presentations to senior groups on the performance of Soft FM services.
  • Lead PLACE auditing, reporting and rectification processes for South sites.
  • Contribute to the implementation and ongoing assessment of National Cleaning Standards.
  • Develop and maintain databases, reports and spreadsheets for monitoring service delivery.
  • Act on behalf of clinical and non‑clinical departments to address complaints about service levels.
  • Establish customer‑care groups to receive regular feedback and ensure services meet changing needs.
  • Maintain accurate monitoring systems to assess value for money and set performance criteria.
  • Take proactive and corrective action when standards are not achieved.
  • Deputise for the Line Manager as required.

Required Education and Qualifications

NVQ4 or degree in management, administration or business studies, or equivalent experience.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build productive collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to work independently, managing complex and difficult situations, often involving conflict.
  • Ability to manage initiatives within financial restraints and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Computer literate with good keyboard skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NHS and its challenges.
