As our new Assistant Headteacher, you will lead high-quality teaching and learning across the school, using instructional coaching and expert classroom practice to improve outcomes for all pupils. You will provide strategic leadership to ensure strong, consistent standards in curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment, while upholding a culture of vigilance as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. You will share our commitment to the "Achievement for all" mission, modelling outstanding pedagogy and high expectations to help every child reach their full potential. You will work closely with our friendly and dedicated staff team, bringing a reflective and solution-focused approach to our dynamic environment. Please note, we are looking for the candidate to start September 2026, or sooner if the candidate is available from April 2026.

Duties
  • Lead high-quality teaching and learning across the school by using instructional coaching and expert classroom practice to improve pupil outcomes.
  • Provide strategic leadership to ensure strong, consistent standards are met across curriculum, pedagogy, behaviour and assessment.
  • Serve as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), upholding a culture of vigilance and ensuring robust, timely and effective safeguarding practices.
  • Maintain a teaching responsibility, modelling outstanding classroom practice and high expectations for all pupils.
  • Use data and appropriate sources of information to evaluate performance, set targets and generate priorities for continuous improvement.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues to develop their professional learning and improve the overall quality of teaching and learning.
  • Support the Headteachers in securing high standards of achievement and ensuring the agreed strategic direction of the school is understood by all staff.
  • Provide professional leadership for the effective day-to-day running of the school as directed by the Headteachers.
  • Promote a school culture that prioritizes excellence, equality, ambition and inclusive practice for every child.
  • Foster effective partnerships with families, other local schools and external agencies to support the wider school community.
