We are looking for a highly motivated Band 6 Specialist Diabetes Podiatrist that is forward‑thinking and keen to develop their clinical skills. The Herts Valleys Integrated Diabetes Service covers South and West Herts and provides podiatry care for people with diabetes who meet our service criteria. Staff will be expected to work at a range of agreed clinical sites within West Hertfordshire. Full‑time or part‑time applicants are welcome. Base salary is negotiable. The post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5 % of basic salary, subject to a minimum and maximum payment per annum, pro‑rata where applicable. Additional benefits include protected clinical supervision, dedicated CPD time, a comprehensive induction programme and regular team meetings and training.
Responsibilities
- Undertake assessment, diagnosis and treatment of your own caseload across multiple community locations.
- Provide podiatry care for people with diabetes in community clinics, health centres and acute community hospital sites.
- Meet service criteria and maintain high quality clinical standards.
Essential Qualifications
- HCPC registered podiatrist with relevant clinical qualification to diploma and/or first‑degree level or equivalent.
- Post‑registration podiatry experience.
- Certificate of Local Anaesthesia.
- Experience of treating patients with diabetes.
- Post‑graduate NHS experience.
- Competent computer skills (Word, e‑mail, SystmOne).
Desirable Qualifications
- Diabetes Foot Module.
- RCOP Vascula Foot Module.
- Previous experience of SystmOne.
- Evidence of postgraduate preceptorship.
Essential Skills
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written), including ability to liaise and negotiate.
- Good organisational skills.
- Will hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have access to a car for business purposes unless having a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience of SystmOne.
