TRUMAN VENUES: SALES & EVENTS ASSISTANT role at The Truman Brewery
We are looking for an Events & Sales assistant to join our growing team. Working across five venues, the key focus will be assisting with corporate sales, data entry, client relations, and event planning. Initially on a part time and temporary contract (October – December), this role is a great entry level introduction to the world of sales and hospitality.
Duration: October – December
Salary: £13.85 an hour
Hours: 2-3 days a week
Working hours: 9am-6pm Monday, Tuesday & Thursday; out of hours evening work will be required in November & December.
Location: Head Office (E1 6QL)
Working across: Cafe 1001, Brick Lane Tap Room, 91 Living Room, Juju\’s Bar & Stage, and Sleazy Pizza
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with data entry, client emails and comms
- Responding to booking enquiries over the phone and email
- Creating booking F&B packages
- Assisting with event hire contracting
- Reporting and building event P&Ls
- Managing OpenTable and smaller bookings
- Assisting with site viewings & client calls
- Diary management for events, client meetings, tastings, hires
- Putting together event briefs
- Assisting with private events – front of house, cloakroom, food & drink service, sound set-up
- Assisting with invoices and invoice follow ups
- Updating sales sheets weekly
- Returning booking deposits weekly
- Updating and maintaining client & data lists
What We’re Looking For
- A friendly and professional personality with excellent customer service skills.
- Strong organisational abilities and an eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to pick up new systems quickly.
- Previous front-of-house, reception, or customer-facing experience (preferably in events, hospitality, or office environments).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, stay calm under pressure, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- A team player with a positive, can-do attitude, who can also work independently when needed.
- Proactive, reliable, and self-motivated.
- Previous event or hospitality experience is beneficial
- An understanding of booking platforms & POS software would be beneficial
