What Is the Opportunity? As a Cyber Risk Services Manager at Travelers Europe, you’ll be at the heart of our cyber insurance offering — assessing the Cyber security position, risk management practices, and business continuity of clients ranging from small businesses to large corporates. Working closely with our underwriting teams, you’ll deliver clear, credible risk opinions that directly inform decisions and strengthen client relationships. You’ll conduct assessments, produce structured reports, and draw on a deep knowledge of claims trends and loss drivers. Beyond the day-to-day, you’ll help shape how we use data and audit findings to bring greater value to clients, improve retention, and evolve the Risk Control function strategically.

We’re looking for a technically strong Cyber IT professional who can audit a client’s cyber environment and have a genuine, peer-level conversation about their risks and investments. You’ll present with confidence in both one-on-one settings and at conferences, and know how to collaborate across teams. In this role you will be hands-on with risk assessment but also work strategically with our Head of Cyber Insurance to find ways to improve data or consider new approaches to assessment. If you’ve worked in a technical advisory capacity at a broker, a carrier, or a reinsurer, we’d particularly like to hear from you.

Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. This entails full-time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro rata for part-time employees). This policy may be changed at the Company’s discretion.

What Will You Do?

  • Provide detailed and accurate cyber risk advice to assist underwriters with risk selection and pricing, including evaluation of remediation measures following a cyber incident.
  • Participation as needed in underwriting meetings with agents, brokers, and prospective insureds.
  • Conduct highly complex comprehensive risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats for policyholders.
  • Analyse and evaluate existing cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures to support recommendations while also ensuring policies/procedures align with industry standards.
  • Develop and deliver actionable recommendations to policyholders on how to mitigate highly complex cyber risks, including overseeing the implementation of risk remediation efforts based on post-incident data.
  • Assist cyber claims teams when domain specific expertise would improve the handling of a cyber claim or the insured’s incident response effort.
  • Develop programs and manage resources that will allow insureds to understand and effectively mitigate cyber risks, including access to services and expertise provided by third-party cyber security vendors and other loss control vendors.
  • Track developments in the cyber insurance industry, including consultation as needed in the development of cyber insurance products and services.
  • Identify emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities and evaluate their potential impact both on individual insureds and on Travelers’ cyber insurance business overall.
  • Provide support to enterprise CAT teams in evaluating cyber aggregation risks and in responding to cyber aggregation events.
  • Independently identify opportunities to enhance existing Cyber Risk Advisory services and develop new offerings to meet client needs.
  • Develop training and education programs related to cyber risks, emerging threats, and cyber risk mitigation and control. Assist in delivering training to underwriters.
  • Research, develop and prepare relevant materials (such as risk management factsheets, best practice guides, etc.) and thought leadership for external publication.
  • Represent Travelers at industry events and thought leadership forums.
  • Creative approach to underwriting support such as the development of underwriting tools and augmented underwriting opportunities.
  • Continuous client network monitoring outreach and support.
  • Build cross-functional relationships including retaining close proximity to Risk Control team in Travelers US.
  • Development of standards and success measurements for the Risk Control services.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • Five years’ experience in IT Risk Management, Cybersecurity, or other applicable information security disciplines.
  • Certification in or advanced knowledge of industry standards/regulations (NIST, ISO, PCI-DSS, GDPR, etc.) and identification and analysis of existing and emerging cyber threats.
  • Experience managing and or developing cyber, IT, I&C or Information Security controls.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Experience of overseeing or conducting independent risk assessments, business process, IT, or I&C control auditing.
