Overview
In this Senior D&O Underwriter role, you’ll drive new business growth for the North region while maintaining and expanding a broker network. You’ll combine expert underwriting with proactive sales to secure profitable renewals and new accounts. You’ll work with regional and product teams to shape underwriting strategies and mentor Development Underwriters. This is a client-facing, collaborative position rooted in a culture of innovation and performance.

Responsibilities
- Underwrite and assess risk for accounts from assigned brokers within authority boundaries
- Develop and execute broker-facing sales plans to generate new and recurring revenue
- Manage a portfolio for retention, pricing, and profitability while aligning with regional/product strategies
- Negotiate terms and conditions in line with underwriting standards and timelines
- Lead and participate in regional underwriting and sales meetings
- Foster collaborative relationships across Head Office, Risk Control, Claims, Actuarial, and other areas
- Mentor Development Underwriters and set team operating standards
- Maintain accurate underwriting documentation and comply with regulatory requirements
- Deliver timely underwriting service and superior customer experience
- Cross-sell TICL products and expand business with existing brokers and clients
- Act as a responsible business partner to brokers and clients, upholding ethical standards
- Keep records of all transactions and ensure regulatory compliance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
- Previous underwriting experience in management liability/professional indemnity/financial institutions
- University degree and/or CII Advanced Certification or Diploma preferred
- Strong knowledge of Lloyd's Market dynamics and financial drivers
- Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills
- Analytical thinking with a solid grasp of underwriting profitability and risk assessment
