POSITION SUMMARY

The Commercial Product Manager, Trafalgar supports the Commercial Product team by creating and driving the analytical frameworks which provide the foundation for the wider team’s work. This includes applying management consultancy principles to the ways of working. This role will set up the systems to record the data required for the commercial team’s business casing, including but not limited to, marketing data, sales data, competitor data and pricing scraping. This role focuses on building a deep understanding of the product portfolio, including itinerary positioning, target audience, competitive set, and pricing strategy across all operating products. Through ongoing market and competitor analysis, the role provides actionable insights to support product optimisation, starting price decisions, and overall commercial performance. This role supports the Head of Commercial Product in evaluating new product opportunities and validating them against the market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data & Reporting Support the Commercial Product team by gathering and maintaining accurate product and performance data. Produce regular reports to support team decision-making and ongoing performance reviews. Prepare in-depth reports for Product Development meetings.
  • Cross-functional Team Provide a data link between the product, brand and marketing team by validating concepts and ideas with robust market insights. Translate marketing research pieces into actionable product design briefing. Track and monitor the results of new product development.
  • Competitor Tracking & Analysis Monitor competitor products, including new launches, changes to itineraries, and pricing updates. Track competitor positioning and identify key trends and innovations in the market. Own and manage competitor analysis tool (Alytic), ensuring data is up to date and easily accessible for the wider team. Provide regular summaries of competitor activity and highlight key movements.
  • Sales & Performance Support Track sales performance against forecast by itinerary to support capacity and planning decisions. Assist in identifying trends and variances year-on-year. Support the team with data inputs for capacity adjustments and forward planning.
  • Team Support & Coordination Work closely with Product, Commercial, and Local Teams to gather data and support ongoing analysis. Provide day-to-day analytical support to the Commercial Product Manager and wider team.
  • Presentation Preparation Turning the analysis into interesting and engaging insights that can be presented to the Senior leadership and exec team. This role participates in presenting the findings and recommendations to the senior leadership team.
